Here are 4 stories reveal another side of Steve Jobs.
His was not employee friendly
Steve Jobs was an excellent recruiter when it comes to hiring and he hired people with passion who can solve problems, not the professionals who know how to manage not how to create. At the same time, he was a jerk that was difficult to handle even during an interview and in simple, a sociopath. The only philosophy he believed was producing results no matter what happened and in a simple statement a cruel employer who didn’t even care for a moment for his employees. His aim to create something bigger without taking care of his workers made him the worst boss that no one wants to work under him. Though people worked under him motivated due to his leadership style and dedication but in another way and his actions as a leader were opposite that showed in his biographical movie. The only good he did was the people who worked under him became a better version at their later life even though they went through a tough time during their tenure under Jobs.
He stopped charitable works and never reopened again
After returning to Apple, he ordered to close all the charitable work done by Apple as the company was going through a rough phase where its shares were below $1, and chances of applying for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection was high. Though he did what was best for the company at that time and made the company profitable again, however, he never ordered to start the charitable work of the company that invited lots of criticism, and the program reopened after his death. Even as a billionaire he never openly involved in philanthropic works like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet and even did not make any donation though there are some speculations about his secret donation still it’s not clear yet.
He betrayed his friend
A less talked topic that people don’t know where Steve Jobs betrayed his friend and co-founder of Apple Steve Wozniak. According to Wozniak, Steve always wanted to run a business and fame, but he was happy with his technical work. Both had different expectations from life but co-founded Apple at the same time, and Jobs didn’t forget to take the opportunity of Wozniak’s lack of interest in business and tricked him to design a game. Wozniak did it for the sake of friendship whereas Jobs sold it Atari and took the majority of the profits without even informing him and later Wozniak got to know about it after the release of a book based Jobs and admitted that he cried after knowing Job’s betrayal.
Refused to support his daughter
He met his first girlfriend Chrisann Brennan at the age of 17 and had a 5 years relationship with her but never accepted her and their daughter. After a lawsuit, he agreed to pay $385 per month, and later it increased to $500 after he became a billionaire whereas Brennan was struggling with the serious financial issue and health problems, and forced to stay with one of her friends and requested Jobs to support her and their daughter whereas he refused her letters simply by saying it blackmail. Once he refused to accept her daughter even after the DNA test where he said that though 94.7 percent DNA matches still 28 percent male population could be her father. Later in the life he apologized for his cruel remark and also accepted his daughter and even increased the financial support however that was not enough as Brennan filed a bankruptcy while Jobs was a billionaire. In a memoir, his daughter Lisa Brennan-Jobs wrote that in a visit during the last stage of his life, Jobs once told that she smells like a toilet. Jobs always replace his Porsche once he saw a scratch, and if Lisa asked for it, he replied that “You’re not getting anything”.
