Veere di wedding VS Parmanu competition proved that we don’t deserve quality movies
Movie: Veere Di Wedding
Starring: Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar, Sonam Kapoor, Shikha Talsania, Sumeet Vyas
Story: A story about four friends who are against everything that usually families are doing for girls. After ten years when they reunite, they understand that life is not exactly what they expected. A movie about feminism (as the makers say), and they tried too hard to make a female version of Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. I wish they could at least touch one percent from these two masterpieces.
Starring: John Abraham, Diana Penty, Boman Irani, Anuja Sathe
Story: Based on a true event that made the nation proud, and showed that superpowers can’t suppress us anymore. The movie gave every detail of that event and glorifies our achievement without making it a typical Bollywood drama.
Though both movies are performing well at the box office still, it raises a question, “Are these two comparable in the name of quality and entertainment?” One is made to show feminism, and other is for patriotism though we are not saying that every patriotic movie is good, and people must watch, however, the movie like Parmanu are far better than the current commercial Bollywood dramas and gave some quality content to the audience that people should appreciate.
One movie glorifies the masturbation scene and foul languages in the name of feminism and freedom of speech and trying too hard to project the female characters as a savior of other female-centric movies and think that this will give a tough competition to the male-centric movies like Pyar Ka Panchnama, Dil Chahta Hai, and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. They could focus more on the content instead of putting such vulgar scene and languages which don’t add any value to the movie except giving cheap popularity. Oh, wait! That’s what they want. In case the makers forget, we would like to remind them that male-centric movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara which describes the feelings of every man in such a beautiful way was directed by a female. Hard to believe! We wish it could touch our hearts like its male counterparts.
The next shaadi season will start with a mad one! #GetReadyForVeereDiWedding on June 1, 2018… @sonamkapoor #KareenaKapoorKhan @reallyswara @shikhatalsania @sumeetvyas @rheakapoor @ektaravikapoor @ghoshshashanka @balajimotionpictures @anilkapoorfilmcompany @saffron_bm @nikhildwivedi25 @abujanisandeepkhosla
On the other hand, the movie like Parmanu is competing too hard against such useless drama despite having a quality storyline with stellar performances, and the credit goes to non-other than we Indian audiences. We sure, in the end, Veere Di Wedding will win in terms of box office collection, because people are buying and will buy tickets for this. We can guarantee that the movie will win many awards in the Bollywood family functions (we prefer to call it a family function instead of award show). We could not agree more with the statement that the choice of movies reflects the maturity of people, and we proudly proved it that we don’t need quality content. When movies like Tiger Zinda Hai, Race 3, and all so-called full-entertainment movies are getting more attention just because of the popular star cast and quality movie like Newton failed to grab the attention; only God can save the Bollywood. However, the collection of Parmanu is not depressing, and give a hope that such movies will come in the future without making any non-sense drama. If Parmanu wins in the battle of Box office and award, we can say that still, Bollywood has some hope.
